MEET ILLINOIS STATE REPRESENTATIVE ANNE STAVA-MURRAY OF THE 81ST DISTRICT

State Representative Anne Stava-Murray is a dedicated public servant and a respected leader representing the 81st District of Illinois. As a full-time legislator, she tirelessly advocates for the needs and concerns of her constituents, working to create positive change and improve the lives of those she serves.

Before entering public service, Representative Stava-Murray served as a commissioner on the Naperville Board of Fire and Police, where she gained valuable insight into the importance of public safety and community engagement. Her experience as a consumer researcher for various corporations equipped her with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families in today's society.

Representative Stava-Murray is a proud alumna of Dartmouth College, where she honed her critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Her educational background provides her with a strong foundation for analyzing complex issues and crafting effective legislation.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Representative Stava-Murray is a devoted spouse and a loving parent to three children. Her personal experiences as a wife and mother inform her work, as she strives to create a brighter future for all families in the 81st District.

Since assuming office in January 2019, Representative Stava-Murray has served on several influential committees, including the Public Health Committee, where she serves as Committee Chair; Ethics & Elections; Judiciary - Criminal; Sentencing, Penalties and Criminal; and Restorative Justice. Additionally, she currently serves as Chair of the Illinois Women’s Caucus. Through these roles, she actively contributes to shaping policies and legislation that address critical issues affecting her constituents.
